Live-In Care in Staffordshire

Able Community Care has been providing Live-In Care in Staffordshire for over 30 years. We offer a true alternative to older and disabled people who do not wish to move into a residential care home but instead wish to remain living in the home of their choice, their own.

The scheme is based on supplying Live-in Care Workers who move into a person’s home and provide domestic support, assistance with personal care and companionship. The live-in period for each Carer is two weeks and the objectives are to provide a rotational system of Care Workers whom our clients are happy to receive support from.

Able Community Care only provides Live-in Care Services and to date we have provided more than 70 million hours of continuous care to our clients who are based throughout the UK and The Channel Islands.

Staffordshire has a population of over 862,000 with a higher than average number of people living in rural areas, a higher than average number of people over the age of 65 years and a higher than average number of single households and we can offer our support services across the county.

Able Community Care has been caring for many of its clients for over a decade, a continuous support service which enables people to remain living in their own home. One such example is Rose who, in 2013 and in her middle eighties, was becoming physically frail. Rose decided that in the village she lived, she knew her neighbours, followed village activities, loved her garden and knew she did not wish to leave her home, so a Live-in Care Service from Able Community Care was investigated. We have provided Rose with a Live-in Carer for the last eight years, she has a regular rotational system of carers she has chosen. Rose knows her Care Manager and is happy to still be living in her own home.

Our Carers are recruited by us and go through our robust recruitment process. We do not sub-contract, interview by Skype or recruit via international agencies. All our Carers have at least one year’s professional care experience, correct documentation and regularly refresh their training. Many of our Live-in Carers have been with us for over ten years and some have been providing support to our clients for over twenty years.

In addition to providing our Live-in Care services we provide Home from Hospital Care, Respite Care and can accompany Staffordshire residents who need care on holidays of their choice.
