Able Community Care has provided Live-in Care Services in Cornwall for over 40 years. Our Live-in Care Service is based on the factor that, given the choice, most older and disabled people would like to live in their home of choice, their own. We have enabled many thousands of older and disabled people to achieve this wish.
One of our clients is called Nelson. He lives in Cornwall and is a gentleman in his 80’s. He is physically fit but being diagnosed with dementia means that he is not safe to live alone. With a live-in carer, he can continue to enjoy the pastimes he has, go out and about in his village to meet with friends and have his meals provided when otherwise he may forget to eat. Nelson has a rotational system of carers with whom he and his supportive family feel comfortable and he continues to live in his home where he is happiest.
Our Live-in Care Service provides experienced care workers who will live in your home for a fixed period and support your domestic needs, such as the housework you used to do and your laundry and they will shop and prepare your choices of food.
Your live-in carers will assist with your personal care as required.
You may be lonely, and having a live-in care worker will provide companionship. Live-in carers will also help you if you wish to go outside of your home, to visit a café, a social group you belong to, attend hospital appointments, a trip to the theatre, enjoy a Cornish Cream Tea or just an afternoon in the garden on a sunny day.
You may find living alone, especially in the Winter, an anxious time, and having a care worker in your home will take away the anxiety and ensure you have a safe environment.
You will have a personal Care Manager who will talk with you or your advocate to achieve a regular care worker rota for you, asking for your feedback to achieve this. Your Care Manager is there to sort out any problems you may have, liaise with other care professionals with your permission and will ensure that your care package is reliable and as carefree as is possible.
Whether you live in villages such as Mullion or Boscastle or towns and cities such as Truro or St Austell, we can provide you with our care services.
All our care workers have a minimum of one year’s professional experience, have an up-to-date DBS (Formerly Criminal Record Check) and have training certification, which is updated on a regular basis.
In addition to providing our Live-in Care services around the County, we are also able to provide Home from Hospital Care, Respite Care and accompany you on holidays of your choice.
